Curriculum Update

Thank you for taking time to visit one of our many curriculum pages. Over the past three months, our staff members have worked diligently to update curriculum for the students of our fine school system. In preparation, administrators and teachers studied both national and state standards to determine what content, concepts and skills our students must know, understand and be able to do by the end of each grade level. This process, commonly referred to as unpacking, serves as the foundation for curriculum development and instructional enhancements. Curriculum is a road map for teachers. It neatly outlines the essential learning outcomes for students within units of study for each course at each grade level. The organization of learning in this manner, commonly known as curriculum, not only enables teachers to design daily lessons or larger unit plans that depict what and how material will be delivered and the ways in which skills will be practiced, but also encourages the use of a variety of assessments to measure levels of mastery. As you continue to visit our curriculum pages, you will see additions and regular updates. We are committed to developing and maintaining high quality curricular programs for the students of Boonton ~ they deserve nothing less! Although it may take some time to reach the level of excellence we have set our sights on, our administrators and staff are dedicated and passionate about the journey.
