Celebrating Hour of Code

Computer Science in Education and Hour of Code were celebrated at JHS by 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Library/Technology classes. We kicked off the month by coding with resources from Code.org and partners such as Code Monkey and NASA's Space Jam. Then 3rd and 4th grade spent two weeks exploring the BBC Micro:bit. The micro:bit is a pocket sized computer that helps students explore the relationship between hardware and software. Students write code and transfer it to the Micro:bit. Fifth grade students also worked on coding concepts using Sphero Mini robots.
