Science is Snow Much Fun

Students and parents in grades 3-5 participated in the Science is Snow Much Fun night.  The students and their parents  moved from room to room and conducted different winter-related experiments.   The students had the opportunity to do activities such as getting their hands dirty when creating snow polymers and creating snow  globes and comparing them with the density of other liquids.

Science Night is a school-sponsored event, providing hands-on activities  which transform classroom science content into engagement and opportunities to foster conversations and activities that can be replicated at home. (Hernandez et al., 2016) Researchers find that providing students and their families opportunities to participate in science nights introduces STEM as a field of study early on.
