The JHS Middle School Career Day 2018 was on Thursday January 25th during 2nd and 3rd periods. Students attended four mini sessions where different volunteers from a variety of careers talked about their jobs. All students had a lesson prior to the career day to explore career options based on their personality and interests. Each of them completed a Myers Briggs survey to help facilitate these connections. They were later asked to rank what careers interested them most based on the volunteers coming in. The options were: pediatric nurse practitioner, law enforcement, physical therapist, nurse, occupational therapist, real estate agent, chemical engineer/scientist, trauma physician assistant, attorney, physician, and engineer/business owner. The presenters covered how they got to where they are at in their career, certifications or licenses they have needed, their education, what they like best and least about their job and what a typical day looks like for them. It was a very successful day!
