School Street School Teacher Wins Big & Shares with Many

As a recipient of the Giving Tuesday GIVEaway in January, Mrs. Amanda Bulkeley, a kindergarten teacher at School Street School, won a total of $5,000 to be used on to complete projects for her own classroom and classrooms around the country.  “Although I feel we are fortunate in Boonton, and we receive what we need to teach our students, I still had some wants for my classroom, including a small guided reading library, more hands-on math and science manipulatives, a new listening center with books on CD, and pocket charts and a magnetic chart stand for better organizing the classroom,” explained Mrs. Bulkeley.

“I spent approximately half of the GIVEaway money on my classroom wish list, and then supported a total of 54 additional classrooms across the country.  I chose one classroom from each state in the United States, and then three additional classrooms in inner city schools here in New Jersey.  I chose a wide range of grade levels and subject areas to support, including projects that would help students create a community garden, improve their gym equipment, provide musical instruments, encourage a school and home connection, buy yoga mats, build solar powered cars, protect technology devices, provide alternative seating options, increase student libraries, and so much more!  It was an awesome privilege to choose so many classrooms across the country to bless with the GIVEaway money that I won!”
