  • JHS STEM-Venture!
The Boonton PTA and JHS hosted a special STEM Family night for Grades 3-5 and their families on May 31st with the support of a grant from the National PTA and the Bayer USA Foundation.  The JHS gymnasium was transformed into a STEM center with lab stations throughout. Students were given their own lab coats upon arrival. A team of volunteer scientists from Bayer, along with volunteer teachers, parents and Boonton High School students, led the students and their families in interactive experiments.  Parents Carrie Bazar, Clare Clear and Radhika Emmess co-coordinated the event. Carrie had applied for the grant on behalf of the Boonton PTA and was only one of 30 local PTAs nationwide selected to receive the STEM & Families grant from 600 applicants and the only school in NJ.  See pictures from the event below.
