Boonton High School’s gymnasium buzzed with excitement on March 4, 2026, as the 12th annual La Copa indoor soccer tournament unfolded after school. With impressive attendance from students, staff, and families, the event showcased spirited competition among five talented teams: Boonton FC, Cold FC, Soph Slayer, Habibi Community, and Sazon FC.

In a stunning upset, Cold FC emerged as champions, dethroning last year’s winners and defying expectations that Sazon FC would dominate. The path to victory was paved with dramatic moments, including a semifinal boost from Boonton FC, where standout player Mudaser Amin helped eliminate the defending champs, propelling Boonton FC to the final. The championship match went into overtime, culminating in Cold FC’s hard-fought triumph.

This year’s tournament highlighted the skill, teamwork, and enthusiasm of BHS students, making it a resounding success. A huge thank you to all participants, captains, coaches, and spectators for their energy and sportsmanship—events like La Copa build community and create lasting memories. Congratulations to Cold FC on their well-deserved win! Let’s keep the momentum going for future BHS athletics.
