Our Second Grade students participated in a week-long Poetry Residency with the incredible professor and poet, BJ Ward from the Morris Arts Grant. It was a week full of creativity and enthusiasm. Students explored the works of famous poets, drawing inspiration from their unique styles and techniques. The students also had an opportunity to practice writing various types of poems, including List Poems, Observation Poems, Metaphor Poems, and Analogy Poems. Revision became an exciting process as students polished their work. The week concluded with students proudly sharing their poetic masterpieces with peers, celebrating each other's creativity and growth. We are incredibly fortunate to have collaborated with Professor Ward, whose guidance and expertise inspired our young poets. This experience has not only nurtured their creative expression but also encouraged a deeper appreciation for the art of poetry. We're so proud of our students' hard work and look forward to more opportunities to foster their talents!
