Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is special because it's the only federal holiday dedicated to serving others. The day celebrates the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the incredible civil rights activist. It is a national day of service because Dr. King's message of peace and justice touched so many Americans. Our School Street School artists drew a portrait of Dr. King and in the background, they added what they would like to see in the future.
