The PTA Multicultural Festival was a tremendous success, bringing together students, families, and staff for a vibrant celebration of diversity and community. Families from various cultural backgrounds created beautifully decorated tables that showcased their unique histories, traditions, and customs, offering attendees a chance to learn and appreciate the rich heritage of each culture. The evening also featured beautiful artwork and captivating dance performances that reflected the talent and creativity of our school community. It was a joyful and enriching night that united everyone in celebration and pride, highlighting the strength and beauty of our multicultural community.

On May 14th, the Business and STEM Academies visited the Somerset Patriots Ballpark. Students were given the opportunity to engage with employees and discuss their job roles and responsibilities. Information sessions were set up around the ballpark that focused on different STEM related activities. Unfortunately, the game was rained out, but students did receive vouchers for another game!

In April, JHS students continued to “Earn Their Wings” by demonstrating outstanding character in their everyday actions. Staff members nominated individuals who consistently showed respect, responsibility, and kindness in the classrooms and hallways. Whether it was lending a helping hand, staying on top of assignments, or treating others with courtesy, these students stood out as positive role models in the school community. Their actions didn't go unnoticed, and their efforts helped create a more welcoming and supportive environment for everyone at JHS. Congratulations to all of April’s honorees!

Our second-graders are learning about Keith Haring. He was an American Artist known for his graffiti-style art. He used bold black lines when drawing his figures, surrounded by kinetic lines suggesting frantic movement. Using pipe cleaners, students created an action figure. Placing it on a piece of paper, they drew a line around the figure, later using a thick black Sharpie to create the bold black lines and other details.
