March is Music In Our Schools Month!
Ms. Cunningham explores music with students in every grade, and in so many ways. Whether focusing on teamwork and kindness with kindergarteners, or preparing for their musical in first grade and even integrating science with music in second grade.

Art with Mrs. Laderach
Mrs. Laderach's kindergarten, first and second grade art classes are exploring elements of art while creating landscapes, decorations for their musical "Ocean Commotion" and creative giraffes.

30 Minutes of Reading Matters!
Between kindergarten and twelfth grade, students with an average daily reading time of 30+ minutes are projected to encounter 13.7 million words.

Focusing through Four Square
Physical Education class is not only fun, but builds both motor skills and cognitive skills. Focus, for example, is key to success in this favorite ball game.

AESOP BOPS Visits SSS
Storyteller, musician, poet and actor, Mr. Davis Gonzalez, brought Aesop Fables to life in a PTA sponsored assembly. Students enjoyed actively participating while listening and learning many classic stories.

We Are... Non-fiction Authors
As part of our non-fiction reading celebration, 2nd graders are reading books across topics of their choosing. After becoming experts on their topics, they are preparing to host a non-fiction museum for a 1st grade class!

PBSIS Boosters
As part of “Be Your Best Bomber” initiative, new “booster” stations will re-energize school spirit for students & staff. Be on the lookout for all “kinds of exciting things!

Creating Resolutions for 2023
Kindergarteners learned about resolutions, or setting a goal for themselves. The kindergarteners are all excited to focus on 2023 being a year of showing kindness to others.

The Spirit of the Season!
We celebrate a season of joy and peace with all of our students who enjoyed learning how many ways there are to celebrate in our different cultures. And, our school glistened with spirit the whole week with flannel, pajamas, holiday sweaters and more!, exploring the ways that our diverse backgrounds share similarities.

Interventionists Work Wonders!
Interventionists work with children to learn through this engaging lesson, Holiday Phonics. This multisensory approach helps students make connections between sounds and letters.

Harlem Wizard Visits SSS!
Smooth, legendary player of the Harlem Wizards, shared some fun with SSS students in advance of their upcoming game on January 11, where they will play at BHS.
