A Hands-On Experience in the Classroom and in the Field

Academy courses have been developed in conjunction with New Jersey colleges, universities and professional organizations. Classes are taught by Boonton educators as well as professionals and leaders in each field of study.

Boonton Aviation Academy logo

Aviation Academy

From flying a plane to operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones), the Aviation Academy offers students classroom, field, and extracurricular experiences that will prepare them to pursue a career in aviation. Through partnerships with Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Program, students can gain the knowledge base that will afford them the opportunity to pursue their Private Pilot Knowledge or Part 107 Remote Pilot Test.

Includes a 100-hour real-world immersive field experience.

College credits: 15 - 21, plus any additional credits earned through AP or college-level courses.

Business Academy

From the basic principles of accounting, economics, and finance, to starting and running your own company, the Business Academy is a powerful introduction to the business world. Students will explore how these basic principles drive economics and impact business on both a local and global level.

Includes a 100-hour real-world immersive field experience.

College credits: 15 - 21, plus any additional credits earned through AP or college-level courses.


STEM Academy logo

STEM Academy

Explore one of the most in-demand career paths as you delve into current topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Offerings in courses such as computer science, robotics, game design, reinforce skills of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Criminal Justice Academy

From law and justice to police work and more, the Criminal Justice Academy is an opportunity to explore law enforcement, public safety, forensics, and other topics that define our criminal justice system.

Includes a 100-hour immersive field experience including opportunities to train with law enforcement, fire and/or public safety officers as well as legal system professionals.

College credits: 15 - 18. plus any additional credits earned through AP or college-level courses.


Teaching & Learning Academy logo

Teaching and Learning Academy

Prepare for a career working with children and young adults in elementary and secondary school settings. Graduates from this academy will complete the classwork needed for the Child Development Associate (CDA) Educational Endorsement Certificate of Achievement – the only nationally recognized certification for Early Childhood Education which is accepted in New Jersey for working in many early childhood centers.

Includes a 100-hour immersive field experience in diverse educational settings with options in Preschool through High School.

College credits: 15 - 18. plus any additional credits earned through AP or college-level courses.


Gateway Academy logo

Gateway Academy

Earn as much as a full year of collegiate credit while enrolled in the Gateway Academy. With the option for a liberal arts or a more focused course of study, this rigorous program offers unique academic and out-of-the-classroom experiences. Gateway Academy students also benefit from a targeted four-year mentor program.
